Coming Soon to This Blog

From the mind that brought you “Countdown to Avengers”, and “Road to Rises”, comes “An Unexpected Blog Series: A Celebration of The Hobbit. This exciting series will look at several of the major characters appearing in The Hobbit, including Gandalf, Elrond,  Gollum and of course Bilbo Baggins.

The title has many meanings behind it .First is the subtitle for the new Hobbit movie, which is a call back to the first chapter of the book The Hobbit. The second is the fact that initially I didn’t want to do a Hobbit series as I’ve been writing essays for Silver-Leaves. However, I’ve quickly discovered that in the world of Middle-Earth there is plenty for me to write about. There is no chance that I will retread on anything I’m doing with Silver-Leaves.

Expect the same thoughtful analysis of these characters that you saw in “Countdown” and “Road”. One week will feature a double post, in order to ensure that all characters are featured in time for the release of The Hobbit.

As Bilbo Baggins said,

“It’s a dangerous business …going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
